About
I am a Brighton-based artist, working mainly in a figurative style, from images either observed and drawn from life or from photographs. I am interested in urban and city landscapes, particularly in recording the constant changes around me, but also in other landscapes, especially abandoned industrial sites, where humans have left their imprint on the environment. I am also intrigued by the process of recording the human figure and of portraits, using photographic resources or from observation and life-drawing. I use a variety of mediums, including acrylic and oil paints, charcoal, pencils, marker pens and different methods of printing - lino-cuts, etchings, drypoint and intaglio and relief printing.
